    Description

We are offering an 1841 Powder Horn with Scrimshaw Carvings.  The horn has the original wooden plug.  Horn measures 6".
    J. Peer was the owner of this powder horn as we can see by the carved identification of the owner -
    "J. Peer's"
    , followed by the date,
    "1841 AD"
.  Also on the horn is a delicately carved buck, a fish, and intricate designs of intersecting circles.
We wonder if this powder horn was used by a soldier in the Second Seminole War between the U. S. and the Seminole Indians in Florida which began in 1835 and ended in 1841.
