    Description

1920s Richard Verascope Automatic Inverseur printing device, used to produce 45x107mm positive stereo slides from negatives, serial number 1070. Printouts of an internet article on its use and another taken from the 1926 book "Stereoscopic Photography" that are helpful in understanding what this is and how to use it included. Image of page 18 of a reproduction of an early Richard catalog (not included),unfortunately in French, shown in the last photo.
Was in a Christie auction in 1996, tag still hanging on one of the knobs.
Large second hand behind the amber front glass, spring motor with wind key for the timer, drawer on the base. Looks to be a walnut case with brass fittings, height is 9-7/8", width 11", depth 5-1/2", electric illumination for the clock dial backlight via standard Ediston socket in the back but no bulb. We artificially lit the back to show the glass. We understand this is designed for 220v. Very good condition as you can see, use your cursor to magnify the images.
Cosmetic condition is mixed, first impression is very good but upon closer inspection there are two places where the wood is splitting a bit on the back (last two photos) and the back of the amber glass looks like it needs to be cleaned and straightened in its perch. The insides are dusty and the tin back shows some light rust spots. The clockwork does not work, may be over-wound.
Sold as-is, as described, no return
