    Description

    Two (2) different 2 7/8" x 4 1/4" advertising trade cards that were most likely one card.  They are for Hartshorn's Self Acting Roller shades.  The first scene depicts a Victorian scene with a sleeping baby nurse and an infant or toddler playing with the cord on the shade.  When she awakens the baby is gone and she frantically searches for the child as he hangs from the shade above watching her search..  The reverse tells the story  in the form of The Hartshorn's Baby Primer compliments of E. L & F. S. Rollins, Window Shades and Paper Hangings, Boston.
