    Description

    Civil War era gutta percha snuff box, purchased in a lot that included over 60 Civil War military issued broadsides.  Possibly belonged to the soldier who owned the broadsides.  Broadsides were mostly dated 1864 in the Richmond VA area.  Ovoid shape measuring 3.25" long - 2.25" high - 1 1/8" deep.  Hinge works and lid closes tightly.
    Probably belonged to a Union Officer belonging to the Army of the James since most of the broadsides refer to that regiment.
