While out on a hunt, I was bothered by my possibles bag swinging and twisting at the straps and I wished I had a belt bag instead. While boiling jerky and rice, I thought ,
What if I made a possibles bag that could be a shoulder strap and also a belt bag. Then, I would not be compelled to purchase another bag. After a non-successful deer hunt, I went to my shop and started to design the possibles bag you see in the pictures. I call it the " SNAKE RIVER" bag.
This bag is a full size bag like all of my other bags. 8 X 7 with a 2 inch gusset. Yes, there is a pocket inside of the bag. The stitching is "BRAIDED SIM SINEW". That's 3 times the thickness of ordinary sinew. All stress points are double hand stitched. I next added a 4 inch loop riveted to the bag on the reverse side. This loop will accommodate up to a four inch belt, or sash. The shoulder straps are a full 1- 3/4 inches wide. A 2 inch brass buckle connects the two straps. The closure is an elk antler button and leather loop. Now, the difference in this bag and my others is the tie straps that connect the straps to the bag. Color is Brown.
The tie straps go through matching holes in the straps and the side gusset of the bag.
In minutes you can make your possbles bag into a belt bag, by removing the tie straps. or you can tie the straps back on the bag in minutes to revert back to a shoulder strap possibles bag.. The leather is a full 5-1/2 to 6 ounce bullhide. I have never seen any dealer that has such a handy possibles bag."
