Here is a
Very Rare
original release Belgian movie poster for the classic thriller directed by Alfred Hitchcock. This one doesn't come up for sale or auction very often. It features original artwork commissioned for the Belgian release. I was very excited to find this poster nearly 20 years ago because I was aware of it's limited availability. However, I was not aware at the time that a previous owner had made some alterations to the lower portion of the poster where the title and credits are printed. I only discovered the alterations when I turned the poster around and saw the telltale bleed marks (see last photo). What apparently happened is that the former owner was not pleased with the red and white lettering of the original artist and decided that the graphics needed a bit of highlighting. So he/she took a gold metallic and a black marker and enhanced the lettering. To the average eye these enhancements look fine and arguably do improve the look of the titles and credits. Unfortunately, this beautiful poster is now considered altered and is not valued as highly as an "unretouched" example.
Having said that, this is still a gorgeous poster and still very rare. In original condition it would be valued at well over ,000 because of it's rarity.

CONDITION: Very Good with Altered Graphics. Top white border intact (untrimmed). Clean, white borders. Artwork intact. Graphics have been altered with gold marker (see details below). Folded as originally issued but stored flat for the past 18 years. This poster will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube.
