    Mike Sanders Knife, Vintage Custom fighter with tapered tang, 440 C One of a kind, very large.
    Mike Sanders, a long time friend, made this knife for me as a companion to my yearly Alaska visit. I chose a fighter configuration as your hand gets slippery with blood and the pray body juices and the extra hilt of a fighteer makes the knife more secure in your hand. The knife is hefty enough that can be used to split bone or wood. Is made of 1/4" stock, has a 7"blade and 5"handle. The blade is 2"wide. Not a knife for the timid! The sheat is red. Mike Sanders lived in Ponchatula, Louisiana and started making knives in 1965. He has made many nives for me on my design. His wife used to scrimshandles many of them. I really miss them.
