The obverse features Nicolae Grigorescu, the coat of arms of Romania, flowers in underprint, the BNR monogram, an artist’s palette and brush, and an artist’s palette in gold Optically Variable Ink. The reverse depicts the BNR monogram, flowers in underprint, and a young peasant girl carrying a vessel on her shoulder from Nicolae Grigorescu’s painting “Rodica, the Water Carrier”.
