This is a Rare Vintage Aluminum 16-mm Movie / Film Shipping Canister. The container measures 20 ¼” x 11 ½” x 5” deep. It was made to ship multiple 16 mm films. The canister has a bottom portion, & a lid that fits over the bottom. The lid has reinforced corners, as well as slots for adding shipping info, and one for adding contents identification. The bottom part has bolted on canvas straps, that go around both vertically & horizontally, and can be cinched down tight with the buckle. The bottom also has reinforced corners. The item is in Great Condition for its age, but does have scratching here & there on its exterior. These canisters are getting quite Rare, now that movies on film have basically passed on into history! An interesting note is that the person I bought it from, said his father was a soldier, and used to ship home his dirty laundry in the container to get it cleaned!!
