Vintage Auto Transformer (Radio?) SEC REF L84363, 18 Leads ca 1940s 50 lbs

Vintage "Auto Transformer" with 18 Numbered Leads, circa 1940s, 50 lbs.
Cosmetically excellent: no cracks or dents, no rust or corrosion. The black cables/leads are in great shape, with one having a tape repair, all others in original, solid condition. One of the original 18 is clipped right up against the housing. The black plastic sheaths are a bit sticky to the touch. I wiped them with rubbing alcohol several times and that has helped quite a bit.
According to diagram found with it, it is 250 volts. I have not tested it nor attempted to hook it up in any way. Was stored for 40+ years in a closed wooden crate inside a Southern California garage.
Has a number of various markings on it:
- Brass tag on side: "Auto Transformer, Serial Number EE 491, STC REF L84363
- Model number embossed at top edge: 01011M6544
- Diamond shaped manufacturer's logo, appears to include a letter "P" in the middle. Other letters are obscured by thick paint.
- Written in black marker to one side: 10KB/426
Also has 3 hand-written documents with it: 2 are diagrams pertaining to the wires, showing the voltage associated with each, identified by number. Also a small blue tag that reads: "Home PA. 3-D9, Afici (??) Gen 0822".
Main body measures 7" x 6" x 6", not including the legs/corner bolts. Weight is 50 pounds exactly.
