Vintage Mountain Man Patch Knife, Hand Beaded Leather & Copper Lined Scabbard
Knife is Full Tang with a Brass Guard
The Handle is Antler,  it is Hand Tooled for Better Grip with 2 Brass Pins
There is a Leather Belt Loop Attachment on the Back of the Scabbard
The Scabbard is Hand Beaded with Over 100+ Individually Sewn Beads; it is Lined with Copper Plates to Protect the Blade
This knife has a lot of age and even has some residual pewter at the base of the guard.
The patch knife was used to cut patches, cloth or leather, which were wrapped around the rifle ball to insure a tight fit against the rifling in the barrel of the weapon. Handles were made of a variety of material such as antler, wood, or cow horn.
