These climbing spikes are used to put on the side of
a telegraph or utility pole. The ends are threaded to be screwed into the pole.
It’s for the telephone utility person to climb up the pole to make changes or repairs.
This vintage climbing spike measures around 9-1/8”w x
1-5/8h"
x 7/8"d. They all are sold individually. They have wear from age and years of being used but still seem to be in functional condition. It was
used by my great-grandfather when he did the electrical job in Reese, MI during the early to mid-1900s. It is in good vintage condition.
